OCTOBER BROWN BAG MEETINGS
ESTATE PLANNING and ADMINISTRATION
Wednesday, October 8, 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. at Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP, 1111 Broadway, 19th Floor, Oakland.
THE METRICS FOR DETERMINING THE AMOUNT OF ATTORNEYS’ FEES IN PROBATE
When you are entitled to an award of fees, what must, and should, your fee petition say? Declaring your hourly rate and the amount of time you spent isn’t enough. You need to tell the Court what the “lodestar” is and what the multiplier should be. Your materials will include quotations from all of the pertinent fee cases broken down between guardianships/conservatorships, trusts and decedents’ estates, as well as a detailed form of fee petition and order. Join us as Michael G. Desmarais, Esq. and Steven P. Braccini, Esq. present on this topic, and time permitting, regale us with some of their professional “war stories.”
RSVP required for each meeting. Email to admin@EBTEL.org with “October 8 Brown Bag RSVP” in the Subject line.
